Ricks Cafe, Lake Las Vegas
Design aesthetic was modern, good lighting, and there were some fun outdoor games adjacent to the dining area. Ping-pong, cornhole, large scale chess & checkers but that area was littered with some random pieces of trash leftover from what looked like a late night of unsupervised teen shenanigans complete with a greasy pizza box. It was not very crowded - probably for a reason. The breakfast was decent, potatoes were good, omelet was good - although the cheese was still cold/not melted within the actual omelet. Blueberry banana smoothie was ok, but bland compared to others I have had. Sourdough toast was the highlight. Everything was just good enough to bring us back for dinner, as the other on-site restaurant was closed. There were maybe one or two other parties dining that evening, and food was served quickly. Turkey BLT was fine, as expected. They served ketchup with the potato chips so I'm not sure what that was about but didn't affect the experience. The chipotle pasta was awful. One or two random pieces of spinach appeared to be a last-minute afterthought and the chicken was not good. I could not tell if it was undercooked, overcooked or even by what method it was cooked. My guess is boiled or microwaved. Really strange and slimy and the flavor was not there at all, couldn't finish it. Wait staff was excellent but even the best service cannot justify going back to this place to eat.
